MARILYN MONROE - BORN NORMA JEANE MORTENSON - June 1, 1926 – August 5, 1962 was an American actress and model. Famous for playing comedic characters, she became one of the most popular sex symbols of the 1950s and was representative of the era's attitudes towards sexuality. Although she was a top-billed actress for only a decade, her films grossed $200 million by the time of her unexpected death in 1962. Marilyn continues to be considered a major pop culture idol and is ranked #1 as the world's most famous celebrity icon.

FRANK POWOLNY - August 13, 1901 - January 5, 1986 was a still photographer at 20th Century Fox from 1923 to 1966. Powolny photographed thousands of stars, starlets and action photos for newspapers, magazines and theater lobbies worldwide. Movie stars like Janet Gaynor, Charles Farrell, Tom Mix, Warner Baxter, ShirleyTemple, Alice Faye, Jeanne Crain, Lana Turner, Gene Tierney, Humphrey Bogart, Bing Crosby, Jennifer Jones, Joan Collins, Ann Margret, Betty Grable and Marilyn Monroe. In 1962 Powolny photographed Marilyn Monroe on the set of Something's Got to Give one week before her death. Frank's best known photo was the favorite pinup of the World War II GIs, Betty Grable in her swimsuit and pumps looking over her shoulder.
